Objective

Keep notification configuration tied to an approved template, event, audience, and review window.

Before you begin

  • Have the Studio administrator’s approved sender identity, monitored reply address, notification event, audience, and timing.
  • Use an account allowed to administer communications. An approved message template must already exist before selecting it for a rule.

Instructions

  1. Open Settings > Communications

Review Sender name, Reply-to email, Default signature, Mailing logo, and Require approved templates. Enter the approved message identity and keep Require approved templates enabled.

  2. Save identity and template policy

Select Save changes and verify Current active values. To make a template available for notifications, enter Name under Add record, choose Approved template and Template purpose, set Available for notifications, and select Add record. Use Edit and Save record for an existing template policy.

  3. Open Settings > Notifications

Set the approved Default retry class and Failure escalation hours. Select Save changes and verify Current active values.

  4. Define the notification rule

Under Add record, enter Name and choose Approved template, Event, and Audience. Enter Timing minutes, choose Email in Channel, then set Retry class, Escalation hours, and Rule enabled. Choose the event and audience for the approved purpose rather than a broader recipient group.

  5. Save and verify the rule

Select Add record, or Edit and Save record for a correction. Reopen the saved Managed record and check its approved template, event, audience, timing, channel, and enabled state.

Result: The approved message defaults, template policy, and email notification rule are saved for later eligible use.

  6. Verify message outcomes separately

Use Messages to review the relevant communication record and available history. A settings save does not send a message, prove delivery, or cancel a message already queued.

Troubleshooting

Approved template is empty or cannot be selected.

Use the Studio message-template workflow to obtain an approved template first, then reopen the settings area. Do not disable template approval to bypass the requirement. Ask a Studio administrator to approve content changes.

The rule is rejected or its delivery outcome is unclear.

Use Email for notification-rule Channel and check the displayed validation message, reply address, timing, and escalation values. For an unconfirmed save, reload Managed records before retrying. Contact Orbit support for a persistent rule or message-history error.

Result

Review the specific communication outcome separately. Changing Rule enabled or retry policy does not establish cancellation of previously queued messages.

Support

Ask a Studio administrator to approve sender, template, audience, and retry policy. Contact Orbit support for persistent configuration or message-status errors without including private message contents.
