Objective

Identify what Orbit recorded and choose a safe next step without creating a duplicate communication.

Before you begin

  • Have the subject, intended families or class, and approximate preparation time ready.
  • A prepared or complete email record does not establish delivery to a family's inbox. Confirm the available delivery service with your Studio administrator.

Instructions

  1. Open Messages > History

Start with All activity. Find the matching subject and audience, then select that history row rather than relying on the summary totals.

  2. Match the selected record

Check Channel, Message type, Content version, and Prepared by. Compare Recipient snapshot with the intended families or class. A similar subject alone is not enough to identify the record.

  3. Read State and Delivery evidence together

Prepared means recipients are prepared. Review the separate accepted, delivered, bounced, failed, suppressed, and uncertain counts when shown. Email counts alone do not prove a family received or read the message.

  4. Check Attempts and Exception

Read the selected record's Attempts and Exception, and any Delivery review required notice. Record the subject, channel, counts, and visible exception for the Studio administrator; keep family contact details private.

  5. Recover an unclear result before preparing another message

Refresh Messages and return to All activity. If the record exists, check its current status before following up. If delivery or publication is unclear, ask the Studio administrator to resolve the exception before creating another communication.

Result: You have identified the correct saved communication and its recorded status or exception. Reviewing History does not resend, cancel, or alter it.

Troubleshooting

The expected message does not appear.

Return the history filter to All activity and refresh. Match the subject, audience, and Prepared by. If the prior action's outcome remains unknown, contact Orbit support before repeating it.

The record shows failed, bounced, suppressed, or uncertain recipients.

Read Exception and ask a Studio administrator to review the recipient information and delivery policy. Do not prepare another copy merely to clear a count; contact Orbit support if the exception cannot be resolved.

A family says the email never arrived although a count says delivered.

Verify the matching Channel and Message type, then ask the Studio administrator to confirm delivery availability. Treat these counts as recorded evidence, not proof of inbox receipt or reading.

Result

Hand unresolved delivery exceptions to the Studio administrator. History provides review evidence; it does not offer a scheduled-message cancellation or provider resend control.

Support

Ask a Studio administrator for delivery-policy and follow-up decisions. Contact Orbit support for persistent missing history, inconsistent counts, or an unresolved exception.
