Objective
Record a review of two possible duplicate families while preserving their linked histories.
Before you begin
- Use the Studio owner's authorized account. A matching name, email, or phone is a suggestion, not proof of a duplicate.
- Have approved household identity details ready to compare privately.
Instructions
Open Settings > Data quality
Find Possible duplicates. Check the two family names and the displayed match reasons, such as email, phone, or family name.
Compare the household records
Use Families to compare guardians, contact details, and dancers through your studio's private process. Ask the Studio administrator to decide whether the records represent the same household.
Select Preview merge impact
Read the dancer count and linked-history warning for the matching pair. Account for enrollment, attendance, billing, and communication consequences before recording the review.
Select Create frozen merge review
Create the review only for the pair you examined. Wait for the saved confirmation, then find the matching entry under Frozen correction reviews.
Verify the review and hand off the decision
Check the review name, Prepared status, and two frozen families. Give the Studio administrator the reviewed pair and unresolved questions before any further correction.
Result: Frozen correction reviews contains a saved review of the two families. Creating it does not merge households, archive a family, or rewrite linked histories.
Troubleshooting
No duplicate candidates are visible.
Check your authorized Studio context and review the known records in Families. A missing candidate does not establish that no duplicates exist. Ask the Studio administrator to assess a suspected pair.
The candidate is no longer available when I create the review.
Refresh Data quality and compare the current records again. Create a review only if the same pair still appears and the household decision remains valid.
The review is saved but the two families still appear separately.
That is the expected review outcome. Ask the Studio administrator for the next approved correction step; do not delete or alter records to imitate a merge. Contact Orbit support for assistance with an unresolved correction.
Result
The Studio administrator resolves the correction decision separately. This workspace saves review evidence and does not complete a family merge.
Support
Ask a Studio administrator to decide household identity and correction policy. Contact Orbit support when a confirmed review cannot be saved or a linked-history correction requires assistance.
